A True Friend

A true friend will always follow you,
To the ends of the earth.
Will stand there right by your side,
Even when you're both unsure.

A true friend will not walk away,
When the hard times arise.
When you disagree on point of view,
When the clouds fill the skies.

A true friend holds your hand,
When you're really weak.
When standing takes too much work,
When your vision becomes bleak.

A true friend helps you succeed,
Because they love you.
Because if either of you should fail,
The friendship wouldn't be true.

The Guarded Heart

Cast away your doubt,
Fight the demons of fear,
Just challenge yourself,
You never know what is near.

Try taking a huge risk,
Leave everything behind,
Jump in with both feet,
Just to see what you may find.

Go out and just be you,
People will keep on talking,
Ignore their comments,
Cause love may just be stalking.

Chat to someone in person,
Chat to someone on the phone,
Chat to someone online,
Love is not equal to one person alone.

So let go of your scars,
Try for once just trusting,
As hard as it may seem,
Without love, your heart is busting.

In My Hands

In my hands,
Lies a secret.
Something that wriggles,
Something that jumps.

In my hands,
Is a masterpiece.
Something that beats,
Something that thumps.

In my hands,
Is a treasure.
Something precious,
Something fragile.

In my hands,
Is a dream.
Something distant,
Something tangible.

In my hands,
Lies a world.
Maybe it's yours,
Maybe it's mine.

In my hands,
Is the truth.
Found with love,
Found with time.

In my hands,
Is a wonder.
Like a hidden door,
Like a growing seed.

In my hands,
There is a gift.
Something we have,
Something we need.

In my hands,
Is true beauty.
Something like nature,
Something like art.

In my hands,
There is life.
It's a small trinket.
It's a living heart.

Just Dance

Dance, in the Spring!
In fields of wild flowers,
by fresh clean streams.
Allowing all the smells
Fill your senses and
Refresh your spirit.

Dance, in the Summer!
While the crickets and
Frogs sing, during the
Clear night star shows.
Without ever getting old,
By keeping you amazed.

Dance, in the Autumn!
As the leaves change
To bright luminous and
Very vibrant colours.
Excitement brews within,
Your heart for festivities.

Dance, in the Winter!
Out in the falling snow.
Let Heaven's frosted tears
Fall gently upon you.
Giving you more reasons
To let go and just dance.

A Friend's Confession

Capture your thoughts
Before expressing your
Opinions. Your words
Have a greater meaning
Then you may think.

A happy day ended by
Someone's uncareful
Thoughts. Expressed
Widely, to everyone in
The room. How kind.

At least now I'm aware
Of how you truly feel,
What I really mean to
you. So thank you, for
your honesty. My friend.

My Prison

The sounds prolong,
Carrying through the air,
Where nothing else is left,
Everything just so bare.

No hopes to reach for,
No love to be found.
Nothing even worth seeking,
To this pain I am bound.

Cement walls surround me,
In the darkest corner I hide.
My secrets are no longer,
Cause to the enemy I confide.

You can't feel the tearing,
The slashing, ripping within.
It cuts me so deeply inside,
That this battle, I cannot win.

Broken down, shattered to pieces,
Cutting my fingers on the shards.
As crimson tears stream down my face,
Forever alone in my prison, behind these bars.

Blinding Despair

Shadows of demons surround me,
Rising up above and around me.
Their hands cover my eyes,
Putting my sight in the dark.

I am alone with my thoughts,
Thinking of all I thought I knew.
Reminiscing again and again,
What was, what could be, what if.

I stand on a ledge, a cliff.
Nothing above me,
Nothing below me.
With only one direction to go.

Before I find my freedom,
I reach out into the darkness.
For something, or someone,
To pull me back, give me hope.

Until, then, I realize it,
There is no-one there.
I'm there on the ledge,
Alone, lost, and blind.

I stretch out my arms,
Taking a deep, final breath.
With no change of view,
I close my eyes, and let go.

Snow and Shards

In junction with my heart,
I disperse all the pieces.
Sending them into space,
Out of reach of time.

They cannot be reunited,
The shards are too small.
Since they've been scattered,
There is no more hope.

As I watch the snow fall,
I think of what happened.
I became cold and hard,
Held up high and dropped.

A white blanket outside,
A dark hollow hole inside.
Wondering if the slivers,
Of my heart fall with the snow.

Who Was There?

Who was there?
When I cried for hours,
When I completely hated myself,
When I lost touch with everything around me.

Who was there?
When my world crumbled,
When this world became nothing,
When hell seemed so very much appealing.

Who was there?
When everyone tuned me out,
Turned me away and didn't understand,
Don't believe what I say because I just "like" to talk.

Who was there?
When everything went wrong,
My thoughts turned into real actions,
Turning me against myself and causing further pain.

Who was there?
Nobody heard my real cries,
Nobody understood what I was saying,
Nobody caught on that I was NOT joking around.

Who was there?
I see it now though,
That there was always someONE,
Who had never left my side through my pain.

Who was there?
The very person who bled for me,
The very person who watched over me,
The very person who made sure that I stayed alive.

Who was there?
Through all the pain,
Through all the times I jumped,
Without looking where I was going.

God was there.
He grabbed my hand,
He gave me hope and strength,
He showed me what real love looks like.

Outside Your Hollow

You've sheltered yourself
In a stone hollow.
With a light reflective screen.
Dark, dank, musty, quiet.

Outside your hollow,
Lies a white sand beach.
With palm trees of various fruits.
Invigorating, refreshing, delicious.

Beyond the beach,
Rests a large body of water.
With piercing blues and greens.
Beautiful, tranquilizing, peaceful.

Hidden among stones,
You never see the wonders.
Within your walls, no sun shines.
Alone, hiding, protecting, secretive.

Risk going outside,
come out of your shell.
With open eyes and an open mind.
Accept, enjoy, marvel, delight.
