Lay Me To Rest

Snap you pictures,
Draw your sketches.
I'll lay here motionless,
Listening and watching.

I may not be breathing,
I may not be alive,
But I'm close enough
To be waiting patiently.

Your coroner will dissect me,
Your forensic scientist...
They will test everything in me,
The evidence will report the truth.

Once it is all revealed,
Once there is closure.
Your pictures and sketches
Will mean achievement.

You'll be able to carry on,
They'll be able to move on.
I'll be able to be at peace,
Everything will lay to rest.
