The Vineyard

A warm breeze upon my face,
The fragrant scent in the air.
I never thought I'd be here,
In a place, where I'm free.

Free to roam, free to pick,
Free to relieve my woes.
It was like walking through
A corn maze. Rows and rows.

Each turn, a new smell,
Strong, sweet, mouth watering.
While wandering, I dream,
Imagining a whole new world.

Nature surrounded me,
Peace, bird songs and breath.
Blue skies, warm sun,
Nothing to dampen my heart.

I'd wished it was forever,
Dwelling in such a lovely place.
Sadly, until the next time,
It's only just a memory.

Drop Your Guns

The violence in the world,
Brought on by disorder,
By fear, by power hunger.
Adrenaline running through
Every man's veins.

Weapons of destruction,
Have not caused the
Pain in the hearts of
All the world's beings.
It was the men holding them.

Swords, guns, knives,
All used for the same,
Yet different purposes.
Bombs, fire, cannons,
Power gone too far.

Let go of your knives,
Fling away your swords.
They won't help save you.
Put out the wicks of flames,
And drop your guns.

Don't allow the violence,
That controls so much,
Take hold of your fear.
Stand against it with everything,
And end the violence today!
