We Are All Princesses

I may be young on the outside,
But I know who and what I am.
You may be old to the naked eye,
But I'm sure you're aware too.

Even if you have moles and warts,
Or scars, bruises and cuts all over.
If you're lucky to have perfect skin,
Flawless and silky smooth to the touch.

Whether you can't afford anything,
Or you can afford to buy the world.
If you come from a large family,
Or your family is small and humble.

It doesn't matter if you sit on a throne,
Or if your residence is in the country.
All girls are Princesses. The young,
The old, the beautiful, the disfigured.

We are all worthy to be Princesses,
Whether we believe ourselves to be;
Someone in our lives has always, I'm sure,
Called us their little Princess. Someone.

Illumination

Light,
Shines bright,
Illuminating everything,
In its way. Walls, corridors,
Stairs, pictures, doors, all things
That require a light to see
Them clearly. But once
The light goes out,
All you could see,
Is left to the
Dim of
Dark.
